MorgenKaffe
Malene Olsen, Iannes Bruylant, and Ian Yves Ancheta, dancers from Tilt Grow #3, #4, and #5 respectively, have discovered a shared passion for outreach work through their collaboration with Panta Rei Danseteater.
Inspired by this experience, they have decided to join forces. Using the skills and insights they gained from the program, they will now present “Morgenkaffe,” an outdoor performance taking place at subway stations and bus stops in Oslo. You can find them during the morning rush (08:00-09:00) in the neighborhoods of Tøyen and Gamle Oslo between October 14-18 and October 28 – November 1.
“Morgenkaffe” tells the story of the busy worker preparing for the workday, performed live for those commuting during rush hour. For most people, a cup of coffee is an essential part of starting the day, and the coffee cup will also be the central focus of this performance. An intricate choreography, where the dancers hold onto their coffee cups, will be performed on and around the benches where people sit waiting for the bus or subway.
As they drink their coffee, the performers become more awake and excited for the day, with the choreography evolving in pace and energy. The performance will end perfectly timed with the arrival of the metro or bus, allowing the performers to board. Afterward, they will hand out free, freshly brewed coffee to their fellow commuters, hoping to provide a similar energy boost to their neighbors. This way, their day begins with joyful cultural entertainment—and an equally important cup of coffee.
