THE LONELINESS TREE
Outside Fyrverkeriet Kulturhus in Raufoss a tree was filled with stories about loneliness from children
When we brought the performance “One..som” to Raufoss, we had the unveiling “The Tree of Loneliness”. This was an installation that contained letters, texts and poems we collected from people with connections to the area, including Gjøvik high school, where they wrote about loneliness. It was thoughts about loneliness, one’s own, others’ and how we live with it. The letters were written on colored paper and hung from trees outside the culture house together with pennants and notes that were attached around tables and benches. Design and layout was Julie Narum, artist with affiliation to Raufoss, who was responsible for. The entire installation was illuminated outside the entrance to the culture house before the performance.
