The Marathon Dance
The Marathon Dance is the story of a dance contest during the depression of in the thirties. The couple who stays upright can win the most money or maybe discovered by a Hollywood talentist. The dream of wealth and fame drives the participants farther and farther towards the edge. It is a story about the price of humanity and freedom in a cynical world in economic decline. In the Marathon Dance we see the beginning of what has evolved into today’s reality TV. Real people’s dreams and hopes are broken or fulfilled while we are watching.
